Fleet insurance FAQ
If our policy covers any driver over the age of 25 can we add
drivers to the policy that are under this age?
Yes. You will need to provide full details
for the driver you are looking to add including their name, date of
birth, occupation, date that driving licence was obtained and any
accidents or convictions they may have. These drivers will be named
specifically on the policy at an additional premium.
Does the policy cover need to be the same on all vehicles on
cover?
No. You can cover some vehicles on a
comprehensive basis and some on a third party fire and theft basis.
However you cannot change the cover on the vehicle mid term on the
policy.
Do all vehicles need to be kept at the business address
overnight?
No. Insurers will understand that sometimes
employees will take vehicles home over night. However it is
important that the insurance company are informed of the parking
address where the vehicles are kept the majority of the time.
Do I need to inform the insurance company of a vehicle change
straight away?
Yes. It is important to keep us informed of
any changes as soon as they occur under your policy. For your own
protection we must hold the correct details under your policy to
prevent any claims being repudiated. It is important that the motor
insurance database is kept up to date on the vehicles that you are
insured to drive.
Do I earn no claims bonus on each individual vehicle?
This depends on the size of your fleet and
your own individual request. We can issue policies based on a no
claims bonus and each vehicle is given its own individual premium.
For larger fleets it is much more efficient to flat rate the
vehicles and using this method all vehicles have the same premium.
The overall claims experience of the policy will affect the premium
for the next year and not just the claims on individual
vehicles.
